Corea Alpine Club: The Corea Alpine Club (CAC) is the largest mountaineers’ organization in Korea. For more than fifty years, the school has enjoyed a reputation of quality alpine education, and has produced many prominent alpine leaders in Korea.
Hike Korea: Hike Korea is an adventure tour company with a focus on hiking the Korean mountains. It was founded and is organized by Roger Shepherd, who, along with Andrew Douch, became the first known westerners to trek the entire distance of the Baekdu Daegan Mountain System. Korea on the Rocks: Korea on the Rocks is a website that catalogues the best spots for rock and ice climbing in Korea. The site includes a friendly community forum where Korean and expatriate mountaineers share information and organize recreational climbing trips. The KMPL is a proud supporter of KOTR.
The San-shin Site: The online collection in script and photo of Professor David A. Mason’s twenty-five years of research in the field of Korean mountain folk culture, with specific details and attention on the age old traditions of shamanic mountain worship. The KMPL is a proud supporter of Professor Mason’s work.

Asia Pacific Mountain Network: Asia-Pacific Mountain Network (APMN) is a voluntary regional network of Mountain Forum representing the Asia-Pacific region. APMN is also a part of the knowledge network of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) Information and Knowledge Management Programme for generating, disseminating and sharing information on sustainable development in upland and mountainous areas of the Asia-Pacific region. The KMPL is a proud member of APMN.
The Mountain Forum: Mountain Forum is a membership driven, decentralised global network of networks. It is composed of five regional nodes in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin and North America, as well as a Global Node located in Lima, Peru since January 2010. The regional nodes are autonomous organisations, which function independently, hosted by partner institutions.

Bear Necessity Korea: Bear Necessity Korea is a volunteer-based organization campaigning in Korea for the freedom of moonbears through the production of educational media, the establishment of suitable bear sanctuaries and the support of existing animal welfare communities. The KMPL is a proud supporter of Bear Necessity Korea.
Birds Korea: Birds Korea is dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats in Korea and the wider Yellow Sea Eco-region, working through research, education and public-awareness raising activities, consultation and collaboration, and well-focused advocacy.
Korean Federation for Environmental Movement/Friends of the Earth International – Korea: The Korea Federation for Environmental Movement was constituted to continue the work of several previously existing civil environmental movements, including the Korea Anti-Pollution Movement Association and Korea Research Institute for Environmental Problems, with objectives that include protecting environmental rights as denoted in the Korean constitution, reducing pollution, advocating the development of sustainable technology, and the pursuing of an ecologically friendly and socially equitable society.
Korean Ministry of Environment: The governmental authority in charge of environmental matters in South Korea. The current minister is Lee Man-woo.
Korea National Parks Service: The Korea National Park Service is charged by the Ministery of Environment to manage Korea’s national parks, which involves the installation and maintenance of park facilities and publication of park maps and promotional materials.
Moon Bears Org: Moonbears.org is a group of people campaigning in Korea for the freedom of Asiatic black bears (aka, moon bears) suffering in bile farms across the nation. Moonbears.org carries out its mission through the production of educational media, the establishment of suitable bear sanctuaries and the provision of financial support. The KMPL is proud to be a partner of Moonbears.org.

Convention on Biological Diversity: The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) entered into force on 29 December 1993. It’s main objectives are the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of the components of biological diversity, and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources. Both South Korea and North Korea are members of the Convention.
Hinterland Who’s Who: The HWW is a Canadian organization, in association with the Canadian Wildlife Service, founded in the 1960s to raise awareness of wildlife and wilderness through one-minute television vignettes. The vignettes, coupled with the iconic HWW theme, ‘Flute Poem’, were for many generations of Canadians the first educational source on wilderness, the human connection to it, and the necessity to preserve it. IUCN: The International Union for the Conservation of Nature, the world’s oldest environmental network, helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges. It supports scientific research, manages field projects all over the world and brings governments, non-government organizations, United Nations agencies, companies and local communities together to develop and implement policy, laws and best practice.
Jane Goodall Institute: JGI was founded by renowned primatologist Jane Goodall and is a global nonprofit that seeks to contribute to the preservation of great apes and their habitats by combining conservation with education and promotion of sustainable livelihoods in local communities and to create a worldwide network of young people who have learned to care deeply for their human community, for all animals and for the environment, and who will take responsible action to care for them.
National Geographic Society: The National Geographic Society has been inspiring people to care about the planet since 1888. It is one of the largest and most renowned non-profit scientific and educational institutions in the world. Its interests include geography, archaeology and natural science, the promotion of environmental and historical conservation.
Nature Conservancy: One of the most trusted environmental organizations in the world, the Nature Conservancy works to preserve the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.
Snow Leopard Trust: For nearly thirty years, the Snow Leopard Trust has been the world’s leading authority on the study and protection of the endangered snow leopard, regarded by many as a near mythical icon of mountain wilderness. The KMPL is a proud member and supporter of the Snow Leopard Trust.
World Wildlife Fund: WWF is the renowned organization that aims to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature by conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.
