PresentThe History of the KMPL

Since 2008, the newly named KMPL has been working to maintain its mission statement and widen its outreach by working closely with other NGOs and with government authorities. While the KMPL may no longer be a tiny group of concerned expatriates interested in giving something back to Korea, but rather a group of expats and Koreans alike working hard to maintain the natural integrity of Korea’s mountains, we are still a humble grassroots non-profit organization doing its part to make that small difference. By the end of 2009, that small difference was measured in the removal and proper disposal of over 3300 litres of trash and recyclables from the Korean highlands.

Today, the KMPL has a broader focus and helps to support international NGOs, like the Snow Leopard Trust, and works closely with local NGOs, like HOPE and Bear Necessity Korea. In 2010, the KMPL will continue to be dedicated to its mission statement while endeavouring to venture upon new ground and aiming for new highs.

This is the promise we’ve made to ourselves, to posterity, and to the highlands of South Korea.
