Snow Leopard Drive

Recently, the KMPL joined the Snow Leopard Trust. The Trust is a superb NGO working to maintain biodiversity within the Himalaya by protecting one of its most mythical and enchanting animals. Snow leopards (Panthera uncia) are vital to the ecology of the Himalaya but they are red listed as critically endangered. There are approximately 4000 to 7500 left in the wild (and less than a 1000 in zoos); now, before you crunch those numbers, consider the sheer vastness of the leopards’ Himalayan range (over 1,200,000 square km). Earth Hour 2010

Earth Hour is Tonight!  On Saturday, March 27, many countries around the world will mark Earth Hour. For one hour from 8:30pm concerned citizens of the globe will dim their bulbs to put the lights out on CO2. Since the first Earth Hour a few years ago, studies have shown that during the hour in which millions of people participate in the event, CO2 output decreased for that hour.
